MEET THE TEAM

Dr Lisa Wang graduated with a Bachelor of Pharmacy (first-class honours) from the University of Sydney in 2008. Although she enjoyed patient care in pharmacy, she preferred to do something more hands-on. So, she completed a Bachelor of Dentistry at the University of Sydney in 2014. Lisa was awarded the John Stephen Hill Memorial Prize for proficiency in Clinical Restorative Dentistry.​

Dr. Lisa Wang joined the practice in 2015, bringing a healthy dose of youthful exuberance. Lisa enjoys all aspects of dentistry, especially pain-free dentistry with a preventative focus, and treating children. She has the same keen, genuine, and gentle manner that we all share and continuously strive to achieve at Dental Excellence. She is committed to continuing education and providing patients with the highest quality of care. “It is rewarding to see my patients walk out the door with a confident, happy smile.”.

Dr Jeff McGrath graduated with a Bachelor of Dental Science (first-class honours), from the University of Queensland in 1976. He was awarded the ADA Prize, the Aust. Society of Periodontology Prize, and the James Egerton Cary Prize.

The founder of Dental Excellence, Jeff, has been practising in Canberra since 1977, initially in Canberra City, then moving to Woden in 1980 and Francis Chambers in 1985.

Dr Kate Cooper graduated with a Bachelor of Dental Science from Charles Sturt University in 2019. She had previously completed a Bachelor of Science at the Australian National University in 2012 followed by two years working at CSIRO. During her study in dentistry, Kate was presented with the Dean’s Award for Academic Excellence. Having grown up in Canberra, Kate was happy to return to practice dentistry in Woden and service the local community.

Kate is a caring and compassionate Dentist who enjoys providing high quality, gentle, and individualised care. Having a relaxed and calming demeanour, Kate can help her patients feel comfortable and confident. She is passionate about all aspects of general dentistry with a particular interest in restorative dentistry, root canal therapy, and children’s dentistry. Kate is committed to keeping up to date with the latest dental development to achieve optimum care for all her patients.
